Old and beautiful cityscape of the Edo period【Sawara】
The place where the emotional scenery of the Edo period still remains is called Small Edo.
Kawagoe in Saitama Prefecture is famous, but in fact there is such a place in Chiba Prefecture as well.
The place is Sawara in Katori City, Chiba Prefecture.
This place prospered as a relay station for the Tone River waterway, and even today, the old and beautiful townscape with an Edo atmosphere still remains, centered on the riverside.
People at that time flexibly adopted the culture of Edo and sublimated it into their own culture.
In addition, this place was designated as an important cultural property in 1996 as a beautiful cityscape to be preserved.
You can enjoy the boat here. If you come to this place, please experience it. Then take your time and enjoy the 30-minute view.
The fare is 1,300 yen for adults (junior high school students and above), 700 for elementary school students * The service starts at 10 o’clock.
It is also recommended to take a walk.
There are souvenir shops, sweets, cafes, esophagus, etc., and the interior of these shops is an old and beautiful Japanese house.
And do you know Ino Tadataka?
He was a person who walked and surveyed during the Edo period, which every Japanese knows,
and completed a map of Japan at the age of 71.
The great man spent most of his life here.
There is also his memorial here.
Summary
Chiba prefecture is famous for natural activities such as surfing, glamping and golf, and the seafood is delicious. Good access from Tokyo. And there are many spots with such wonderful scenery.
I would like to continue to introduce the spots in this place.
I hope you will like Japan more after seeing my column.
And I pray that one day your wish will come true and you will come to Japan.
