The Chichibu area of Saitama Prefecture is famous as a sea of clouds observation spot near Tokyo. There is also an observation tour of the sea of clouds.
The Chichibu area is surrounded by mountains on all sides, and fog generated by radiative cooling stays.
Therefore, it can be said that the sea of clouds is likely to occur.
The conditions for the sea of clouds‼
・In spring or Autumn season.
・The humidity of the previous day is high.
Moisture accumulates on the ground due to rain etc.
・Clear on that day.
(Fog is generated by cooling by radiation cooling)
・There is not much wind.
The generated mist is not blown by the wind and accumulates.
When these conditions are met, the probability of a sea of clouds increases! ! Statistically, the peak of occurrence occurs from mid-October to mid-November.
Superb view of the sea of clouds and night view “Minoyama Park”
According to the weather forecast, the weather on the day of shooting was in accordance with the conditions for the sea of clouds.
So I came to “Minoyama Park” which is famous as an Unkai observation spot near Tokyo.
The altitude of this park is 586.9m, there are 3 observation decks and you can see the scenery around the mountain almost 360 degrees.
It has also been selected as one of the 100 best night views in Japan
Arrived before dawn. The sea of clouds blurred the city lights and became a fantastic scenery.
This time, I took a picture at an observation deck near the entrance. From this observatory, you should be able to see the night view of the city.
Other sea of clouds “Muse Park “ ！！
Located at an altitude of 363m. This place can be reached in about 15 minutes by car from the city area, so it can be said that Chichibu is the most popular spot in the sea of clouds.
There is a possibility of congestion due to its popularity. If the sea of clouds is thick because the altitude is low, fog may occur at the observation deck.
“Mitsumine Shrine” A shrine famous as a power spot and sea of clouds！！
Located at an altitude of about 1100m, it is a little over an hour from the city by car.
However, due to the high altitude, the observation rate of Unkai is high, and the magnificent mountain scenery and Unkai collaboration are the best spots.
Because the sea of clouds disappears early, it is difficult to go to the sea of clouds at the same time …
So, Muse Park and Mitsumine Shrine were introduced only by sentences.
Eventually, I would like to visit these two spots and take photos.
A thick sea of clouds occurred in Minoyama Park this time. And it was a satisfying trip to photograph the superb view of the sea of clouds.
It is a spot of sea of clouds that can be visited from the city center. Why don’t you come to see the sea of clouds when the occurrence condition is met by weather forecast etc.?
